vienna theatre projectwelcomes in 2019 with a wonderful, hit comedy…

In a run-down movie theater in central Massachusetts, three underpaid employees mop the floors and attend to one of the last 35 millimeter film projectors in the state. Their tiny battles and not-so-tiny heartbreaks play out in the empty aisles, becoming more gripping than the lackluster, second-run movies on screen. They are onto a scam, making extra money on tickets, but the new employee - who is African American - is less enthusiastic about breaking the law, as he knows he’ll be the first one accused. With keen insight and a finely-tuned comic eye, The Flick is a hilarious and heart-rending cry for authenticity in a fast-changing world. Winner of the coveted Susan Smith Blackburn Prize and OBIE Award in 2013, and the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for drama.

“Hilarious and ineffably touching” New York Times

“This hypnotic, heartbreaking micro-epic…is irreducibly theatrical” Time Out

“A riveting play” The Guardian

ABOUT SKYLAR, Jack Midgley- Jack Chilton Midgley, less Chilton more Midgley, is an English actor currently residing in the artistic bosom of Vienna. He, Jack Chilton Midgley, more Chilton than Midgley, is also writing right now in 3rdperson.

Jack is a character ensemble performer, with training and workshopping experiences from such practitioners as Nicolás Núñez, John Britton, Elion Morris, Steven Detmire… Jack Midgley (Now in italics) has a well-rounded knowledge of what it’s like to be on a stage and what it’s like to take on the stage. From the physical to the Method… Jack has tried it.

Love encompasses everything in this world, and if you do not do what you love a little piece of you dies inside. It has taken Jack a really long time to understand that acting is a passion and it comes from the very being of the soul. I… (Sorry…’He wants to’… Because we’re still in 3rdperson…Sorry… I am not Canadian) push that integral moment(s) of the heart of being present, the flowing vessel that takes you the next step further as an actor and ultimately, as a human being.
